It is our pleasure to welcome you to the St. Jude’s By The Sea Lutheran Church website. Our namesake, St. Jude, was carried by the sea to do mission work. Similarly, the waters of the sea have attracted our mission here along the Gulf Coast. Our congregation was formed in 1980 and has occupied our building since July 1984. Our purpose is “to seek the honor and glory of God, to manifest the unity of our faith in Jesus Christ as God and Savior, to spread His kingdom by fostering Christian fellowship and love, by preaching His word, by administering the Sacraments, and by religious instruction to all its members and those who visit the Alabama Gulf Coast”. (Article II of 1990 revised Constitution). St. Jude’s is affiliated with the Missouri Synod and serves the needs of many fellow Christians.
